The diesel generator set should be operated by personnel who are familiar with the structure of the generator set and master the safe operation rules.New or recently overhauled diesel generator set need to undergo 50 hours of run-in and necessary maintenance.
Before running new generators or generator which keep in stock for long term,you need do strict inspection for it, mainly to check the winding insulation, wiring, etc., if there is any discrepancy, you must solve it with necessary treatment.
After the diesel engine starts running, the speed will be increased slowly. After checking and confirming that everything is in good condition, the diesel engine can run at low speed to the rated speed without load.During no-load operation, check the oil pressure with no abnormal noise, excitation current, three-phase voltage, etc. If there is any abnormal situation, stop the machine immediately for inspection.After finding out the problem and solve it,then start again.If everything goes well, the generator will go into normal operation.The operator should closely monitor the changes of the instrument on the control panel, whether the data is within the permitted range, and make corresponding adjustments.

During operation, operators should keep a certain and safe distance from running equipment and wear protective equipment.Switching operation should pay attention to the order. In case of power failure, disconnect the branch switch first, then disconnect the MCB, and then switch the position of quadrupole double switch. When transmitting electricity, the order is reversed.Normal operation for stop the generator, unload the load first, then turn off the main switch, finally turn off the diesel engine. It is forbidden to turn off the diesel engine before turn off the MCB . Check the unit regularly after shutdown, and record the operation status (daily check).
If electric shock occurs, the power switch should be cut off or the power should be cut off quickly with an insulating appliance.Then rescue was carried out and a doctor was called to the site.In case of electrical equipment flooding,cut off the power supply immediately , and report to the local power supply, and then carry out fire fighting. You should use dry type fire extinguisher and carbon dioxide extinguisher for fire fighting, water is forbidden.
